  9.         This  file  contains   important  licensing, registration and
  10.         evaluation information about the SPLOT for Windows program.
  11.  
  12.         SPLOT  is  distributed  as  "Shareware"  or  "User  Supported
  13.         Software"  and  is  fully  copyrighted.  If  you register the
  14.         program you will receive these benefits:
  15.  
  16.           1) The latest version of SPLOT.
  17.           2) A printed user's manual.
  18.           3) A printed technical reference which describes
  19.              all plotter instructions supported by SPLOT.
  20.           4) An end to the nag screens and opening banners.
  21.           5) Deep discounts on the next major versions.
  22.  
  23.         These are three type of license:
  24.           1) A single user license permits a single user to use SPLOT
  25.          only on a single computer at a time.
  26.       2) A multi user license permits to simultaneously use  more
  27.          SPLOT copies on  more computers at  a time according  to
  28.          the  licensed  number  of  users.  The unlimited license
  29.          (with  no  limitation  on  simultaneous  use)  is   also
  30.          available and it is equal to the licensing of 50 users.
  31.       3) A multisystem site license is designated especially  for
  32.          use on  computer networks  with a  dedicated server from
  33.          which the  network users  can run  SPLOT on workstations
  34.          and so it permits simultaneous use on one network.  Only
  35.          one copy of the SPLOT executable file can exist in whole
  36.          network and  must be  situated on  the dedicated server.
  37.          Generally the  multisystem site  license can  be used on
  38.          any multiuser environment  as long as  only one copy  of
  39.          the SPLOT  executable file  exists in  that environment.
  40.          However  note  that  this  license  cannot  be  used  on
  41.          peer-to-peer networks (use  multi user license  for that
  42.          purpose). You  can also  order a  mutisystem license for
  43.          more sites  (servers).   The unlimited  multisystem site
  44.          license (with no limitation to number of sites) is  also
  45.          available and it is equal to the licensing of 20 sites.

  47.     The  single  user  registration fee  for SPLOT for Windows is
  48.         $65.00 (US funds).  The  multisystem  site  fee  for SPLOT is
  49.         $140.00. Users outside of Europe should include an additional
  50.         $5.00 for international airmail.

  52.     Since  the  SPLOT  program  is  always distributed with a DLL
  53.         library (libraries)  adapted for  a certain  plotter type, do
  54.     not forget to mention the plotter type with which you want to
  55.     use the  SPLOT program.   A list  of plotters  you can choose
  56.     from is given in the  PLOTTERS.TXT file.  In this  file there
  57.     are also given the parameters of these plotters together with
  58.     a list of supported instructions. It makes possible to choose
  59.     a suitable plotter  type even if  your plotter is  not listed
  60.     (most  plotters  are  compatible  with  some plotter from the
  61.     list). Of course, you can  order SPLOT program with more  DLL
  62.     libraries  for  different  plotter  types.   In this case the
  63.     single  user  registration  fee  for  any  further version is
  64.     $20.00 (+ $5.00 outside Europe) and the multisystem site  fee
  65.     is $40.00 (+ $5.00 outside  Europe).  This principle is  also
  66.     valid for an  upgrade.  If  you have registered  at least one
  67.     SPLOT program version at the full price of $65.00  ($140.00),
  68.     now and in the future only $20.00 ($40.00) is to be paid  for
  69.     all other versions.

  71.     Special offer:
  72.     Registered users of  the MS-DOS version of  the SPLOT program
  73.     can order the MS-Windows version for $45.00 only ( $95.00 for
  74.     the  multisystem  site  licence )  (+ $5.00  outside  Europe).
  75.     In this  case fill out your  serial number  in order form and
  76.     mark it as `upgrade from DOS version'.
  77.     Note:  The  latest  MS-DOS  version  of the SPLOT program  is
  78.     available  on  all  SIMTEL20  archives  in   <MSDOS.GRAPHICS>
  79.     directory as SPLTXXX.ZIP file (recently SPLT250.ZIP).

  81.         The price for multi user license is a corresponding  multiple
  82.     of the single  user registration fee  reduced by a  graduated
  83.     discount. The discount is  graduated according to the  number
  84.     of users:
  85.                 Number of users        Discount [percent]
  86.                      2 - 10            20 %
  87.                     11 - 20            25 %
  88.                     21 - 30            30 %
  89.                     31 - 40            35 %
  90.                     41 - 50            40 %
  91.         The  number  of  50  or  more  users  equals to the unlimited
  92.     license.

  94.         The  price  for  more  multisystem  sites  is a corresponding
  95.     multiple of one multisystem  site license price reduced  by a
  96.     graduated discount.  The discount  is graduated  according to
  97.     the number of sites:
  98.                 Number of users        Discount [percent]
  99.                      2 - 10            20 %
  100.                     11 - 20            25 %
  101.         The  number  of  20  or  more  sites  equals to the unlimited
  102.     license.

  104.         If you will order a multi license, you will normally  receive
  105.     only one master copy of the SPLOT files on diskette and  only
  106.     one printed manual for  each ordered plotter type  along with
  107.     permission to make  its own copies  of diskettes and  manual.
  108.     The  number  of  these  copies  is  limited  by the number of
  109.     licensed users/sites. If  you want to  receive a diskette  or
  110.     manual  with  each  ordered  copy,  you should pay additional
  111.     $1.00 ($2.00 outside  Europe) per diskette  or $3.00   ($5.00
  112.     outside Europe) per  manual (includes diskette  already). The
  113.     number  of  diskettes/manuals for  which  you  should  pay is
  114.     determined by the following expression:
  115.            n = (nu-1)*np
  116.         where nu is number of users/sites and np is number of ordered
  117.     plotter types.

  119.         To  calculate  correct  registration  price,  please  use the
  120.     Calculate  SPLOT  registration  fee  dialog (invoked from the
  121.     menu bar Help  item), which will  help  you  namely for multi
  122.     license order.

  124.     Author can accept payment in these three ways:
  125.  
  126.      1) In cash (money enclosed) - this is the most quick method,
  127.         but at your risk.
  128.  
  129.      2) Credit card  -  MasterCard, VISA and American Express are
  130.         accepted.  Please,  fill out  carefully  the  credit card
  131.         information in order form.
  132.  
  133.      3) Bank or travelers cheque enclosed - please make  a cheque
  134.         payable in US funds.
  135.  
  136.      4)  Author can send to you first an invoice with an  account
  137.         number.  Then you will receive the SPLOT program as  soon
  138.         as your payment will be done to this account number.

  141.     with this package  (as provided in  the file ORDER.TXT  or in
  142.     the help file).

  171.                        EVALUATION AGREEMENT
  172.  
  173.         SPLOT  is not  and  has never been  public  domain  software,
  174.         nor is it free software.
  175.  
  176.         Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use SPLOT
  177.         on  a  14-day  trial  basis  for  the  purpose of determining
  178.         whether SPLOT is suitable for their needs.  The use of SPLOT,
  179.         except for the initial 14-day trial,  requires  registration.
  180.         The use of unlicensed copies of SPLOT by any person,business,
  181.         corporation or any other entity is strictly prohibited.
  182.  
  183.         No one may modify or  patch the SPLOT executable file  in any
  184.         way, including but not limited to decompiling, disassembling,
  185.         or otherwise reverse engineering the program.

  187.         A limited  license is  granted to  copy and  distribute SPLOT
  188.         only  for  the  trial  use  of  others,  subject to the above
  189.         limitations, and also the following:
  190.  
  191.         1) SPLOT must be  copied in unmodified form,  complete
  192.            with the file containing this license information.
  193.  
  194.         2) The full machine-readable SPLOT documentation  must
  195.            be included with each copy.
  196.  
  197.         3) SPLOT  may not  be distributed  in conjunction with
  198.            any other product without a specific license to  do
  199.            so from author.
  200.  
  201.         4) No  fee,  charge,  or  other  compensation  may  be
  202.            requested or accepted, except as authorized below:
  203.  
  204.            a) Operators of  electronic bulletin board  systems
  205.               (sysops)   may   make   SPLOT   available    for
  206.               downloading as long as the above conditions  are
  207.               met.   An overall  or time-dependent  charge for
  208.               the  use  of  the   bulletin  board  system   is
  209.               permitted as  long as  there is  not a  specific
  210.               charge for the download of SPLOT.

  212.            b) Vendors of user-supported or shareware  software
  213.               may  distribute  SPLOT  after  obtaining written
  214.               permission  from  author.  Such  permission   is
  215.               usually granted. Vendors may charge a reasonable
  216.               disk duplication and handling fee.

  220.                        LICENSING AGREEMENT

  222.         Licensed user are bound to the following licensing agreement.

  224.         You may not transfer your license without written  permission
  225.         from author.  A single  user license  permits a  user to  use
  226.         SPLOT only on a single computer at a time.
  227.  
  228.         This product is distributed  AS IS.  The  author specifically
  229.         disclaims all  warranties, expressed  or implied,  including,
  230.         but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and
  231.         fitness for a particular  purpose with respect to  defects in
  232.         the diskette and  documentation, and program  license granted
  233.         herein,  in  particular,  without  limiting  operation of the
  234.         program license with  respect to any  use or purpose.   In no
  235.         event shall the author  be  liable for any loss of  profit or
  236.         damage  including  but  not  limited  to special, incidental,
  237.         consequential or other damages.
